James and his team undertook a redevelopment for me beginning in January 2023. This involved upgrading the property's insulation, replacing a number of doors, a renovation of the kitchen including replacing the kitchen flooring, countertops and plumbing as well as upgrading the wiring. In addition new garden gates and an extensive amount of new fencing was installed.
This is the third time I have hired the Brindley team to undertake building work for me, so I think that speak volumes. The previous projects where complete building renovations. The team brought a can do attitude, creative flair and eye for detail to all of these projects. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

James and Brindley Renovations has recently finished the complete renovation of my apartment in a converted warehouse in southeast London. As both bathrooms had been virtually destroyed by flooding from the apartment above, they had to be refitted from scratch, the pine floors had to be refinished and the pine kitchen while functional needed upgrading.
James is an accomplished plasterer, plumber, tiler, painter and decorator and I have never seen someone with such attention to detail in his work. Both bathrooms were relatively small, but he was able to conjure up additional space by rearranging the plumbing and reducing unnecessary void spaces so that in the en suite, for example, he was able to replace a fitted bath containing the shower with a free-standing Victorian bath and full-size shower cabinet. I am a perfectionist, but his tiling is so good I have never been able to find a fault.
The apartment has wonderful, exposed pine beams and columns but during the original conversion, some of the smaller cross beams in the ceiling had been encased in ugly plaster boxes, presumably because they weren’t in great condition. However, I wanted them exposed and James was able to this involving some intricate plaster work along the irregular edges of the beams and creating a vastly improved finish to the apartment adding LED downlighters.
The original fitted kitchen had been beautifully made in solid pine and was still in good condition, but it was thirty years old and needed up grading. James retained the units where practical stripping and then painting them in a Farrow and Ball dark blue, where some of the units were not functional, he replaced them large easy close drawers with matching external detail and enclosed the new fridge freezer, so it was integrated with the rest of the units. With new tiling, granite worktop and stainless-steel butler’s sink it looks like a brand-new kitchen.
The whole apartment has been transformed and I have no hesitation in recommending James to anyone wanting to improve their living space.
